API Engineer

Someone who is an experienced web app developer who can help put Weotta in more places and devices - especially mobile devices.

Qualifications

• You have direct experience developing REST APIs and cloud services
• You have experience working closely with other developers to manage and organize data for fast and flexible retrieval
• You have deep experience developing highly scalable, multi-tier, web systems
• You have a track-record of creating robust web services that are scalable, flexible, and elegant
• You adapt quickly to emerging requirements and anticipate future needs
• You know how to design software and/or platforms used by others, and have supported other developers with adoption and implementation of your solutions
• You have 5+ years of software development and preferably some Python experience
• You are familiar with web standards, web security, and HTTP architecture
• You have a BS or MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent experience
• You have great interpersonal communication, and project management skills
• You are super driven, methodical, professional, and approachable
• You are familiar with startup culture and not afraid to juggle multiple projects and proactively take on more responsibility
• You partner well with others and have a demonstrated ability to collaborate with other team members on your delivery commitments

Nice-to-haves

• Familiarity with NOSQL databases, especially MongoDB and Redis
• Familiarity with map reduce programming models such as Hadoop
• Machine Learning knowledge/experience
• EC2 experience
